Lowell Athletics & Activities Foundation donates $100k for Cawley Stadium locker rooms

The newly formed Lowell Athletics & Activities Foundation (LAAF) has donated $100,000 to renovate the boys’ and girls’ locker rooms at Cawley Stadium in Lowell. The nonprofit organization made the donation during a City Council meeting where they also requested the locker rooms be named after John Blake Galvin Jr., a former standout athlete from Lowell High School who has contributed greatly to the community. LAAF plans to raise additional funds for the locker room project through a golf tournament later in the summer, while the city will address any necessary repairs to the grandstand before the renovations can proceed.
